Performances of the definitive version of Emanuele Casale’s audiovisual opera Conversazioni con Chomsky  are scheduled on October 20 and 21 at the Arena del Sole in Bologna. As Casale explains, “Conversations con Chomsky  takes its cue from various works by the famed American linguist and activist Noam Chomsky. The setup is simple, bare-bones essential. There’s a big screen with videos accompanied by live music and digital sounds. A whirlwind of sounds, visions and words that form a mosaic of messages that tend to focus on topics that are among Chomsky’s favorites: language, propaganda, mass media and politics. But the figure of Chomsky is neither idolized nor iconized: it serves as a pretext for introducing the themes explored.”
