Ahead of the world premiere of Michael Gordon's Travel Guide to Nicaragua by The Crossing and Maya Beiser at Congregation Rodeph Shalom, Philadelphia on November 16, and Carnegie Hall on November 17, 2022, Jude Vaclavik, Director of U.S. Publishing & Promotions, Universal Music Publishing Classics & Screen, sat down with the composer himself to discuss the new work. 

The Metropolitan Opera’s 2022-23 season opened with Sondra Radvanovsky’s electrifying performance as the titular character in Cherubini’s rarely performed Medea, a role previously made famous by Maria Callas. The Met’s first-ever production of the work featured the use of Flavio Testi’s revised edition of Cherubini’s score, and was led by Maestro Carlo Rizzi, with stage direction by David McVicar.

Butterfly by composer Huang Ruo and librettist David Henry Hwang, based on the Broadway hit and Tony Award-winning play originally written by the librettist himself. James Robinson's production--under the baton of Carolyn Kuan, featuring opera stars Kangmin Justin Kim and Mark Stone--was lauded by audiences and critics alike.
