ricordilab wrap-up 2023

For a year now, Ricordi Berlin has been working together with the three new ricordilab composers Hannah Kendall, Alex Paxton, and Diana Syrse, who have already celebrated great concert successes and important prizes. There are now further significant premieres on the horizon:

Hannah Kendall: O flower of fire with the London Symphony Orchestra

“Hannah Kendall’s music has an amazing ability to really grip the listener, to draw the listener in. It’s percussive, it’s lyrical, it’s very atmospheric, with the use of really beautiful chords, and an amazing use of silence, which makes you really want to listen to her music.”—says Sir Antonio Pappano, designated principal conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra, which commissioned a new piece from Hannah Kendall alongside the Staatstheater Hannover. O flower of fire sees its world premiere on 4 October 2023 at London's Barbican Centre.
