Why are there three publishing houses called Ricordi?

The Italian publishing house Casa Ricordi was founded in 1808 by Giovanni Ricordi in Milan. Later on, two outposts were opened in Great Britain and Germany. G Ricordi & Co Ltd (London) started life in 1878; the G. Ricordi & Co. Bühnen- und Musikverlag was founded in 1901 and is today based in Berlin. By now both have published their own stellar line of composers for many years.
