Bühnen- und Musikverlag GmbH (Germany), G. Ricordi & Co. Ltd. (UK), G. Ricordi & Co., New York (USA) and UMP Editio Musica Budapest (Hungary).
UMPC is the global leader in classical music publishing. The repertoire features more than 1.900 composers. The roster includes legendary composers such as Bartók, Debussy, Puccini and Verdi, modern classics such as Grisey, Kodály, Nono and Varèse, as well as leading contemporary composers like Dusapin, Francesconi, Haas and Kurtág.
Why are there three publishing houses called Ricordi?
The Italian publishing house Casa Ricordi was founded in 1808 by Giovanni Ricordi in Milan. Later on, two outposts were opened in Great Britain and Germany. G Ricordi & Co Ltd (London) started life in 1878; the G. Ricordi & Co. Bühnen- und Musikverlag was founded in 1901 and is today based in Berlin. By now both have published their own stellar line of composers for many years.
