Globokar’s Exil 3: Video Documentary
Right now thousands of people all over the world are fleeing from war, violence and poverty. Vinko Globokar’s newest work is focused on this very topic: emigration. On February 20, 2015 Exil 3 was premiered in Munich by Peter Eötvös, award-winning actor Bruno Ganz and other soloists. Globokar has compiled the text for Exil 3 himself from various sources spanning several centuries; he also wrote an original text which was translated into German by Peter Handke. “While others are becoming corrupt in order to please the audience, the 80-year-old Slovene is committed only to his own will. He is a sharp-witted observer of the present and a glowing humanist, who is still exploring language and sound in an experimental way. For this reason the world premiere of Globokar’s >Exil 3< became the highlight of the >Musica Viva< for new music in Munich.”
