Globokar’s Exil 3: Video Documentary

Right now thousands of people all over the world are fleeing from war, violence and poverty. Vinko Globokar’s newest work is focused on this very topic: emigration. On February 20, 2015 Exil 3 was premiered in Munich by Peter Eötvös, award-winning actor Bruno Ganz and other soloists. Globokar has compiled the text for Exil 3 himself from various sources spanning several centuries; he also wrote an original text which was translated into German by Peter Handke. Neue Zürcher Zeitung (Marco Frei, February 24, 2015)
“While others are becoming corrupt in order to please the audience, the 80-year-old Slovene is committed only to his own will. He is a sharp-witted observer of the present and a glowing humanist, who is still exploring language and sound in an experimental way. For this reason the world premiere of Globokar’s >Exil 3< became the highlight of the >Musica Viva< for new music in Munich.”
