On October 4, Deutsche Oper Berlin continued their Meyerbeer cycle with Vasco da Gama. His operas Les Huguenots and Le prophète are scheduled for future seasons. The whole cycle is based on Ricordi's critical edition. “Today, we know that all aspects of Meyerbeer’s advanced compositions were lost in the editing process. The critical edition bears witness to the richness of his artistic expression,” says Der Tagesspiegel.
