Franco Buitoni Award 2021 to Silvia Colasanti

Franco Buitoni Award 2021 to Silvia Colasanti

Congratulations to Silvia Colasanti, who has been awarded the Franco Buitoni Award 2021, conceived by the BBT founder Ilaria Borletti Buitoni as a tribute to her late husband Franco (1934-2016), co-founder of the Borletti-Buitoni Trust.

The Award is assigned every other year and it is dedicated to excellence in the chamber music world, recognizing Italian artists who promote and encourage chamber music at home and throughout the world. Chamber music has always been profoundly supported by the BBT founders in different ways and Franco Buitoni had been leading the Amici della Musica di Perugia for over three decades. His legacy continues with this special award in his name. In the past editions, the Franco Buitoni Award was assigned to Quartetto di Cremona (2019) and, for the first edition, to György and Márta Kurtág (2017).

The ceremony will take place in Perugia on October 9th 2021 and a new work by Silvia Colasanti, Love Song for piano, percussion and string orchestra, will be premiered by pianist Beatrice Rana.
