On August 20, 2015, Hungarian president János Áder handed over the Order of Saint Stephen to composer Péter Eötvös and chess grandmaster Judit Polgár. Mr. Áder pointed out that the recipients “have turned success into a habit” on a global scale.

He also said that Mr. Eötvös and Ms. Polgár have won glory for their home country by passing on knowledge and setting an example. Furthermore, the Hungarian President praised Péter Eötvös’ desire for the new and his deep respect for the musical tradition.
