About Accabadora

Inspired by Michela Murgia’s novel of the same name, Accabadora immerses us in a Sardinia suspended between memory, tradition and ritual, exploring the boundary between life and death while questioning the meaning of care and compassion.

In Francesco Filidei’s new chamber opera, this world finds expression through a contemporary musical language that engages with the memory of Sardinian culture. The result is an intimate meditation on life and death, in which the relationship between the living and the dead becomes the focus of a broader reflection on human bonds and the final moment of farewell.
