Azio Corghi’s lyrical tragedy L’eco di un fantasma, for female narrator, choir and orchestra, with book by Maddalena Mazzocut-Mis, makes it world premiere this November 3 in Cagliari, Sardinia. The composition was commissioned by Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, and the performance features actress Sonia Bergamasco, along with the Teatro Lirico Orchestra and Choir, conducted by Gérard Korsten. 

In L’eco di un fantasma (The Echo of a Ghost) a woman, Elena, recounts her life of beauty and allure. But classic good looks like hers become the source of suffering.

This world premiere is part of the tribute to Azio Corghi in celebration of the composer’s 80th birthday.
