Third Edition: The Piero Farulli Awards 2019

Applications are now being accepted for the Third edition of the Piero Farulli Awards for Compositions for youth string quartets. Piero Farulli played viola in the legendary Quartetto Italiano and was a founder of the Scuola di Musica in Fiesole, Italy.
Application deadline: June 30, 2019.

These awards are sponsored by the Piero Farulli Association, in conjunction with the Regional Orchestra of Tuscany and the Alimondo Ciampi Foundation. They were instituted in 2015 with the aim of creating access to pieces otherwise inaccessible to young and upcoming string musicians. They are for: 

- compositions with low-medium level of difficulty (level A)
- compositions with preprofessional level of difficulty (level B)

Jury for the 2019 Piero Farulli Awards: Giacomo Manzoni (president), Adriano Guarnieri, Joerg Widmann, Taiwan Chia-Ying Lin (winner of the 2015 Piero Farulli Award), Daniel Herrera.
