Fabio Vacchi turns 70

An all-around musician with a lifetime of achievements to his credit, Fabio Vacchi’s long list of compositions comprises nearly every musical genre, ranging from theatrical to chamber and orchestral pieces. Along the way, he has worked with a slew of international artists, including film directors, for whom he has written numerous soundtracks.

Vacchi turns 70, and to celebrate, the Giuseppe Verdi Symphony Orchestra of Milano, for whom he is resident composer, has lined up a pair of chamber music concerts featuring his music, along with the performance of his Concerto for violin (Natura Naturans), featuring soloist Domenico Nordio, conducted by Carlo Boccadoro.

Vacchi is currently involved in mapping out his latest initiatives for the coming years.
They include the premiere of his opera Jeanne Dark, with book by Stefano Jacini, loosely based on Voltaire’s satirical poem 'La Pucelle d’Orléans', slated to open at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino 2020.
New performances of his melologue Eternapoli, for narrator and orchestra, with book by Giuseppe Montesano, will take place in spring 2020 (Bologna and Milano). Eternapoli was commissioned by Teatro San Carlo in Naples, which hosted stunning performances featuring the voice of Toni Servillo in February 2018.
