Klartag: world premiere of the Concerto Grosso

Klartag: world premiere of the Concerto Grosso

October 2019 brought the world premiere of Yair Klartag’s Concerto Grosso.

The ricordilab laureate’s new work was presented by the Meitar Ensemble and Thelma Yellin Orchestra conducted by Pierre-André Valade. Performed at the New Music & Israeli Music Festival in Tel Aviv, the Concerto Grosso “explores spaces between musical extremes – the ensemble's intimacy against the massive orchestral force” (Klartag). A further performance of the piece is planned for January 2020 with conductor Guy Feder in Zichron Ja’acob. In May 2020, Klartag’s new music-theatre piece Six Memos from the Last Millennium will be premiered by the ensemble hand werk at the Munich Biennale.
