Lisa Streich signs with Ricordi Berlin

We are very pleased to announce that Lisa Streich has signed an exclusive contract with Ricordi Berlin. Having supported the rising Swedish composer in its ricordilab programme, the publisher will be representing her wide-ranging catalogue of works for orchestra, ensembles and chamber music.

In her music, Lisa Streich (b. 1985) is particularly interested in the incongruent contrasts that can arise on both visual and auditory levels at the same time. Likewise, she pursues a keen interest in imperfect, well-known chords from recordings which she decidedly takes apart and weaves – sometimes with 40 voices – throughout an orchestral movement. Musical theater and dance also have a strong appeal to Streich. Her existing compositions for choir, for example, clearly show how excellently she can write for the human voice. Likewise, many of her works can be described as having a distinct affinity for dance.

Upcoming world premieres

Among her upcoming performances and commissions are an orchestral work for the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester and Alan Gilbert, a new orchestral work for the Staatstheater Hannover, a string quartet for Quatuor Diotima and a new work for Ensemble intercontemporain and the Collegium Novum Zürich. Currently, Lisa Streich is “composer-in-focus” at the Staatsoper Stuttgart and is writing a new orchestral work for the Berliner Philharmoniker and Kirill Petrenko.
