In Autumn 2024, American Ballet Theatre presented new productions with music by Isobel Waller-Bridge and Dai Fujikura.

Unusual sounds filled the iconic WDR Funkhaus on November 23rd, when musicians of Musikfabrik Köln took the stage to perform the world premiere of Lisa Streich’s new ensemble piece VOGUE. 

Premiered at Munich’s Musica Viva festival by cellist Nicolas Altstaedt and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Liza Lim’s new cello concerto A Sutured World has went on to equally enthrall listeners at the Cello Biennale in Amsterdam.

In Autumn 2024, Nicolas Altstaedt premiered Liza Lim's A Sutured World with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks in Munich and the Concertgebouworkest in Amsterdam. We talked to the cellist about Liza's work, his collaboration with the composer and about the different ways in which he worked with the two orchestras.

The 2024 Donaueschinger Musiktage present two eagerly awaited premieres: The world premiere of Enno Poppe's Streik and the German premiere of Hannah Kendall's Tuxedo: Between Carnival and Lent.

Il 16 ottobre 2024 va in scena la prima esecuzione assoluta della nuova opera di Silvia Colasanti, L'ultimo viaggio di Sindbad, racconto musicale in sette quadri, su libretto di Fabrizio Sinisi liberamente ispirato a testi di Erri De Luca. L'opera è commissionata dal Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, e allestita in collaborazione con RomaEuropa Festival.

The 68th International Festival of Contemporary Music in Venice will run from 26 September to 11 October 2024, directed by Lucia Ronchetti. The programme will feature 12 composers from the Universal Music Publishing Classics & Screen rosters and catalogues.

This past summer and continuing through the fall, Kevin Puts' Contact will be performed on tour by Time for Three, while Joshua Bell will also lead the Academy of St Martin in the Fields on tour performing Puts' Earth.
