Alex Paxton, 1990 in Manchester geboren, ist Komponist und improvisierender Posaunist. Er studierte Jazz und Komposition in London an der Royal Academy of Music und am Royal College of Music. Zu seinen Auszeichnungen gehören der Ivor Novello Composer Award und der Kompositionspreis der Royal Philharmonic Society. Seine Musik wurde bei Labels wie Listenpony und Everest Records veröffentlicht, zuletzt „Music for Bosch People" bei der Birmingham Record Company /NMC Recordings.

Zu den bevorstehenden Projekten gehören neue Auftragswerke für das Explore Ensemble, die London Sinfonietta, das Riot Ensemble sowie zwei Porträtalben: „ilolli-pop" erscheint bei nonclassical im Oktober 2022 und „Happy Music for Orchestra“ bei Delphian im Jahr 2023.
