For many years, this Berlin-based Palestinian-Israeli composer played traditional Arabian music with various notable ensembles. 1992-96 he studied musicology at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel, and after that studied composition with Younghi Pagh-Paan and music analysis with Günther Steinke at the Hochschule für Künste in Bremen. Invitation for the festival of pgnm bremen, with two world premieres. 2004 invitation to Israel for a concert of the Israelian Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Noam Sheriff.

Since then Odeh-Tamimi collaborated with numerous ensembles. A first CD wholly dedicated to his works will be issued by Deutscher Musikrat (German Music Council) on the label Wergo in 2011. In 2008 several of his works were performed during the festival Klangspuren Schwaz (Austria). On 6 February 2009 his orchestral work Rituale was world premiered in Munich by Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, conducted by Arturo Tamayo. On 20 August 2010 Leila and Madschnun and on 1 October 2010 Hinter der Mauer were world premiered in Germany. He lives as a freelance composer in Berlin.

2002 DAAD Scholarship for studies at the Academy for Arts, Bremen
2006/07 scholarship from the German Academy Casa Baldi, Rome
2008 scholarship from Berlin Senate for a six-month-stay in Paris

In 2008 he was invited for a one-month-stay in Istanbul in connection with the "into-project" of Siemens Arts Program and Ensemble Modern. The resulting composition Cihangir was world premiered in Frankfurt in October 2008 and since then is on tour with Ensemble Modern. In 2003 he was awarded the First Prize at the Composition Competition of the Elisabeth-Schneider-Stiftung.

In 2012 Odeh-Tamimi will be the ‘composer in residence’ at the Kölner Kunststation Sankt Peter (Cologne St. Peter Art Centre). He has been commissioned by the Deutschland Funk to write an experimental organ work for St. Peter’s Jesuit Church in Cologne. The work can be seem at the beginning of October in 2012, when organist Dominic Sustek will premiere the new piece at the ‘Orgel Mixturen’ at the International Festival for Contemporary Organ Music in Cologne.
